(Studio) President Ford meets with Senator Mike Mansfield and Representative Carl Albert. He'll give Congress time for compromise before vetoing oil price controls extension.

(DC) [MANSFIELD - says Ford showed degree of flexibility. May not be too much movement up due to development when controls come off.] Ford willing to delay veto and renew price controls pending Congress action, and compromise on 40-45 month phase-out. Admin. expects oil companies to hold back on price hikes.
