(DC) Senator Hugh Scott and Representative John Rhodes met with President, who said he was anxious to be as careful as possible.

(DC) [Betty FORD - says important for President and candidates to get out. He could be more cautious and not shake hands so much. Says has a lot of faith when questioned about fear of losing husband. Told him to keep going but stay away from people. Not sure gun control would work. Agrees with President Less would happen if less publicity.]
