(Studio) Report on 1 aspect Boston busing.
REPORTER: Walter Cronkite
(Boston, Massachusetts) 3 years ago, Roslindale school only 3% black. Students 46% black this year 7 of 10 came to school. Busing works here. high school in white middle-class neighborhood. [WHITE STUDENT - says blacks and whites all in neighborhood; students used to it when they come here.] [BLACK STUDENT - says don't need police here.] 4 class deans listen to problems. [Hdmaster. Don. BURGESS - says students much more adult than we were at their age. Feel they'll carry out responsibility.] This kind of cooperation could become rule for city rather than exception.
