(Studio) New California sex law designed to end prosecution of homosexuality between consenting adults. Possession of ounce or less of marijuana is misdemeanor, but penalty for selling is not lessened.

(Hollywood, California) Pranksters arrange giant Hollywood sign so it reads "Hollyweed." Roger Overmier turns up at police station to be cited under new marijuana law for possession of 1 joint. Police comply with his wishes; may get $100 fine.
