(DC) Details of polls reported [GALLUP - notes changing polls, especially in South] [HARRIS - says if Carter loses, which may happen, will have booted largest lead in modern political history.] Voter turnout and effects considered. [HARRIS - speaks of effect.] [GALLUP - speaks of effect.] Pollsters disagree who will be helped by turnout. Doubts with regard to Carter begin to show. Harry Truman, Franklin Roosevelt races recalled.
