(Studio) Aerial drama took place over Los Angeles, California, today.
REPORTER: Walter Cronkite

(Huntington Beach, California) Report on attempted suicide of man identified as Theodore LaBelle. LaBelle said he stole small plane and threatened several times to crash it in order to kill self as he flew over Long Beach, Seal Beach, Huntington Beach, out to sea toward Catalina and back to land. Police pursued him via air while Federal Aviation Administration tried to persuade him to land; he did eventually and was captured. Other details noted.
