(Studio) President Ford skis in Vail, Colorado.
REPORTER: Roger Mudd

(Vail, Colorado) President Ford gets stuck on ski lift. Had earlier called Mrs. Philip Hart, with regard to death of Senator Hart. In response to question concerning what he might do for her, Mrs. Hart asks Ford to proclaim across-board amnesty for Vietnam service evaders as memorial to Senator Hart. [FORD - answers reporter with regard to amnesty matter.] 21,000 took advantage of Ford clemency plan. 80,000 more remain in trouble for actions during Vietnam war period. To balance Ford's action with regard to Nixon pardon, Ford is urged to sign blanket amnesty. No indications in this direction seen.
