REPORTER: Walter Cronkite
(NYC) Jackson proposes federal government takeover of welfare; national health insurance; incrd. education aid; national housing; insure municipal bonds, and full employment. Program to cost $60 billion. He also calls for public works, rebuilding Navy and $2 trillion energy plan. [JACKSON - says won't be labeled "big spender" because he's known as conservative.] 2 liberal econs. say Jackson plan for 2% unemployment would cause inflation.
