(Studio) Arabs from 22 towns of Israeli-occupied west bank hold elections.
REPORTER: Walter Cronkite
(W. Bank) 1st results showed strong gains by PLO (Palestine Liberation Organization) supporters. Campaigning activities noted. Voters and candidates treat election as referendum on west bank's future. Women voted for 1st time. Israeli soldiers stayed out of town; Arab police kept order. Jordan, Israel and PLO (Palestine Liberation Organization) will be affected by results.
