(Tokyo, Japan) Kissinger talks 2 hrs. with Chrmn. Mao Tse-tung and Chou En-lai. Establishment of trade missions in China considered possible. In Tokyo, Kissinger backs Ambassador Robert Ingersoll in saying that Japan must take positive steps to import more American goods. Kissinger briefs Prime Min. Tanaka on Chinese talks and discusses postwar Vietnam reconstruction.
