(London, England) Thames River has long history of pollution. $250 million used to clean up river. No raw sewage enters Thames anymore. Floating lab measures river's temperature and oxygen content. Boats patrol against pollution. paper manufacturer spent $1.5 million building its own water treatment plant. Recovered fiber to pay for plant in 7 years [Marine biologist Mike ANDREWS - notes growth of fish supply in Thames.] River is now healthy.
