(Studio) Air Force says B-52 bomber should be replaced by supersonic bomber, B-1. House rejects move to delay funds for B-1.

(Edwards AFB, California) Ex-astronaut, Thomas Stafford, flew in chase plane as B-1 bomber achieved its fastest speed. Stafford is commander of AFB's flight test center [STAFFORD - describes test which he viewed from F-111 plane.] Faster speeds hoped for.
