(Omaha, Nebraska) Ford greets bystanders and makes statement. [FORD - says mandate would be helpful.] Ford visits park and garden being built to mark his birthsite. Ford in trouble with farmers here due to last year's embargo on grain sales to USSR . Most Nebraska party representatives support Ford and say he's still ahead in polls. Ford needs Nebraska victory; reasons noted.
