(Studio) Jimmy Carter visits New York Democrats delegation.
REPORTER: Roger Mudd

(NYC) New York Democrats now support Carter. Those supporting Carter include: Governor Hugh Carey; New York City Mayor Abraham Beame and Lieutenant Governor Mary Anne Krupsak. [CARTER - grateful for support no matter how late. Notes Bible story.] Carter meets with Representative Morris Udall who will stay candidate until 1st ballot at Democratic Convention Udall won't endorse Carter or release his delegates as group in order to keep influence on convention cmtes. in the party's platform. [UDALL - says Carter will be Democratic candidate. Udall delegates free to vote for Carter.] California Governor Edmund Brown Junior also speaks to New York delegation.
