(Studio) President Ford comments on sex scandal with regard to Representative Wayne Hays.
REPORTER: Walter Cronkite
(DC) [FORD - says use of taxpayer's money for such activities disturbs everyone.] Ford says he warned against giving Hays so much power in 1971 as head of House Admin. Committee House Democratic leader Thomas "Tip" O'Neill says Ray scandal didn't involve power of Hays' committee. [O'NEILL - says President taking cheap political shot.] O'Neill feels Hays should give up chairmanship.
