(Studio) Reporters comment on Carter-Mondale ticket.
REPORTER: Walter Cronkite
(Convention Floor) Mondale selection probably will go over all right in the S. Virginia chairperson Joe Fitzpatrick says Mondale choice will help overcome liberal dissatisfaction with Carter. Alabama chairperson Robert Vance says Carter doesn't need help in Alabama. South Carolina chairperson Don. Fowler says ticket is in good shape, although right wingers may grumble.

(Convention Floor) Most in E. feel positive about Mondale selection. Felt he'll help Carter in E. New York spokesperson notes how Mondale will help campaign.

(Convention Floor) Mondale choice seen as plus in large Midwest states. Democrats in smaller Midwest states not sure how Mondale will be received George Wallace supporter says many beginning to suspect that Carter, with Mondale's help, may turn out more liberal than he appears.
