(Studio) Housing starts up 4.3% in June. Building permits down 3.1%.

(Enfield, Connecticut) Large percentage of people are remodeling or fixing up their hses. [Homeowner Dick RIST - says remodeling to cost him $300 instead of $1500 because he's doing it himself.] National remodeling statistics noted. [Contractor Bob UEBRICK - says 90% of his work is in remodeling.] Loans for home improvement easier to get and rates lower.
