(Studio) Jimmy Carter talks to reporters about defense briefing.
REPORTER: Roger Mudd
(Plains, Georgia) Defense advisers agreed on ineffectiveness of reserve and guard forces. [CARTER - says reserve forces often filled with pols. Drastic chances ahead. 1st strike capability no longer possible.] [Senator Walter MONDALE - says one must be insane to start nuclear attack because destruction for all would occur.] Carter says he would try for limits of all nuclear weapons, not just missiles.
