Johnson was president [Sumter Cnty. banker Phil JONES - says land values around Plains have incrd.] 2 hotel chains and restaurants inquire about locating here. [Plains grocer C.L. WALTERS - says locals will probably be reluctant to sell property to outsiders.] [A.Z. PITTMAN - says his future will be rough.] Pittman was renting property across street from Carter's house [PITTMAN - doesn't believe Carter has anything to do with his getting kicked off land.] Attorney for landowner explains why land cleared.
