(Studio) Ford press secretary Ron Nessen says Ford forces see no erosion of delegates due to speculation with regard to nomination of Senator James Buckley. Nessen claims Ford now has major of uncommitted Mississippi delegation. Ford forces in Kansas City hold small control over conv., having made some platform concessions to Reagan forces. Situation still close.

(Kansas City, Missouri) Platform committee begins final work. Resolutions adopted incl. gun control and ERA. Reagan forces won battle with regard to gun control and feminists continue battle with regard to ERA. [Vice chairwoman of National Republican Women's Caucus Betsy GRIFFITH - says President Ford might have to disassociate himself from platform opposing his stand on ERA if he's nomination] Pro-ERA forces say they think they can pass support of ERA; only foreign political plank being left for Friday Both Ford and Reagan forces say all goes well.
