(Studio) New class at West Point finishes basic training; class include 1st women at Academy.
REPORTER: Roger Mudd

(West Point, New York) Report on women undergoing basic training prior to entering classes at West Point. [Instructor Lieutenant Barbara DOORNINK - says girls are highly motivated and face challenge well.] [Cadet Sylvia MORAN - says glad she came.] Some women cadets feel West Point overcompensated for them. [Female CADET - says some things harder for her than for other girls and men expected girls to do as much as men.] [2nd female CADET - notes compensation in runs.] For most part, women have held own in basic training.
