(Studio) National Education Association endorses Jimmy Carter for President today; is 1st pres. endorsement in NEA's 119-yr. history.

(DC) (Film of Carter and Mondale at gathering Wednesday) [CARTER - thanks crowd and says with their help he'll win.] Mondale speaks to crowd as he and Carter accept NEA (National Education Association) endorsement. [MONDALE - says Ford has said he's for full employment; notes number added to unemployment lists since Ford became President] Difference in Carter and Mondale styles noted. [CARTER - says it's last time Mondale will speak 1st.] Carter forces saying race will be close; Carter's going on attack being considered, but probably nothing will be decided before 1st debate next week
