(Studio) FBI agents continue probe in Grand Rapids with regard to Maritime Union contributions. Paul Henry, Republican official, questioned.

(DC) Maritime Union gifts to pols. noted. Backing of Nixon in 1972, Carter in 1976 cited. Marine Engineers Beneficial Association (MEBA) raised money for Carter. MEBA and Seafarer's International Union gave money for Nixon re-election. In 1972 MEBA gave $7500 to Gerald Ford campaign. Unions have interest in maritime legislature Ford once considered friend. Ford's vetoing bill with regard to transportation of imported oil said offensive to unions. MEBA backing of Carter considered.
