(Florence, SC) Dole tells small airport crowd Republican won't write off South, but Southerners should expect to see little of Democratic Vice Presidential choice, Senator Walter Mondale. [DOLE - gives reasons he thinks Mondale won't be in South] At stock car race, Doles greet drivers and some others, makes brief remarks, meets Carter briefly; is accompanied by Senator Strom Thurmond on parade lap around track. Dole denies recing. illegal corporate contributions from Gulf Oil in 1973. Senator and Mrs. Doles' financial statement released today; points noted.
