(Studio) Senator Judiciary Committee holding up nomination L. Pat. Gray as FBI chief because some feel he did bad job of investigating Watergate case. Committee wants to hear from White House attorney John Dean with regard to his connection with Watergate and Gray investigation.

(Capitol Hill) Committee votes unanimously to invite Dean to testify at confirmation hearing. [Senator John TUNNEY - says if White House wants Gray confirmed should allow Dean to testify.] [Senator Robert BYRD - says if Nixon doesn't want Dean to testify should withdraw Gray's nomination] [Senator James EASTLAND - says Congress can't force Dean to testify.]
