Tom FARLEY - prays for those without heat and other necessities.] National Guard efforts to rescue people stranded in homes by snowdrifts noted. Some brought to armory in Washington Courthouse, Ohio. [Anna Lee DAVIS - describes experience.] [Vivian BAILEY - describes experience.] 1 National Guardsman says outsiders still don't realize how bad things are here.

[Drugstore OWNER - says they have to comply with law.] Penalties for violators noted, but there's catch. [Fort Lee police chief Arthur DALTON - says enforcement on everybody and everything is big job and nearly impossible.]

(Durham, North Carolina) Community effort in Durham to get firewood for those without fuel or needing it noted; case of Mrs. Ollie Watson cited as example [WATSON - describes experience without fuel.] Case of Rosia Jenkins noted. [JENKINS - notes arthritis pain when cold.] Residents say free firewood will continue as long as there's need and volunteers to cut wood.
