(Studio) Energy bill conference committee 's decision to take Thanksgiving recess noted.
REPORTER: Bob Schieffer

(DC) Report on controversy over decision in light of President's canceled foreign trip. Request of committee chairperson Harley Staggers for some work next week noted. [Senator Howard METZENBAUM - says nothing of substance would have been done in 2 recess days anyway.] [Representative Thomas ASHLEY - says this isn't vacation and that conference work will continue] Still to be decided are natural gas pricing and energy taxes issues; some see Christmas as target date.
