(Studio) Michael Bilandic firing of cabinet member who charged he helped conspire to raise taxi fares reported.

(Chicago, Illinois) Richard Daley recalled. Jane Byrne charge that Bilandic rail-roaded taxi fare hike through city cnsl. using figures known to be false noted. Both Byrne and Bilandic rptdly. have taken lie-detector tests with regard to their statements. [BILANDIC - announces Byrne termination.] Sharon Gist, Byrne replacement, filmed. [GIST - talks with reporters] Byrne filmed cleaning out office. [BYRNE - reads tribute to her by Richard J. Daley.] In reaction, [BYRNE - calls Bilandic administration cheap.] Byrne to testify before federal grand jury, report says.
