(Studio) Cal Tech astronomer's possible discovery of new development in outer space reported.
REPORTER: Walter Cronkite
(Pasadena, California) Report on Cal Tech astronomer Charles Kowal's possible discovery of 10th planet in our solar system. Last planet discovered was Pluto; location of new discovery, beyond Saturn, noted. (NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) animations and photograph of object shown.) New discovery reported to be smaller than Mercury. [KOWAL - doesn't know exactly what body is; notes it's being called miniplanet for now.] Asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter mentioned. Kowal's previous discoveries of Jupiter moons and several supernovas and his education noted. Smithsonian Astrophysical Lab will decide if Kowal's discovery is a planet.
