(Studio) Oregon ban on aerosol sprays, due to fear of damage to ozone, begins today.
REPORTER: Roger Mudd
(Portland, OR) Pharmacist Wally Watson takes aerosol cans off his shelves. [WATSON - says enough information with regard to products containing fluorocarbons given before ban.] Background on Oregon ban cited; California scientists discovered possible danger to ozone by fluorocarbons; mfrs. disagree with regard to aerosol cans. [DuPont spokesperson Edward LORENZ - says industry believes law premature.] Other states could enact such laws soon.
