(Studio) Zaire invasion by troops from Angola noted; reason not yet known; area invaded is Shaba, former Katanga province. State Department announces US aid to Zaire in form of military support supplies but no weapons.

(DC) Details with regard to supplies cited. Defense and State Depts. say it's only 1-time emergency aid and United States won't get involved. Sources say this may be attempt by Angola to settle long-standing border dispute with Zaire, and though there's no evidence Cuban troops in battle, there may be Cuban officers assisting.
