(Studio) House Assassination Committee chairperson Henry Gonzalez turns in resignation today due to quarrel with chief cnsl. Richard Sprague.

(DC) Status report on committee House speaker O'Neill works out compromise, but Gonzalez, in Texas, refuses to talk to him, so O'Neill has to negotiate with Mrs. Gonzalez. O'Neill says full House has to vote to accept resignation; insiders say House won t do that and that Sprague is in till end. 1 committee member says end in sight.
