(Studio) Special assistant on drug abuse, Dr. Peter Bourne, says administration may propose ban of barbiturates, even with prescriptions. Bourne tells UPI that with ban such drugs would only be available in hospitals. Bourne notes many victims of barbiturate-alcohol combination poisoning are young people. 1 such victim is Karen Ann Quinlan; background of Quinlan case and court battle with regard to right-to-die issue noted.
