(Studio) President Carter and Gerald Ford meet today; isn't known if Singlaub episode comes up at meeting, but Ford commented earlier.
REPORTER: Walter Cronkite
(DC) Report on Ford's meeting with Carter. Later, Ford takes issue with troop withdrawal plan, but says if military officer not ready to carry out orders of Commander-in-Chief, he must be prepared to take the consequences. Ford says he'll remain political active, while not running for anything; says he wants young Republicans to begin running without oldtimers' in way. Won't say if Ronald Reagan is oldtimer.
