(DC) Commentator notes less than perfect technologies developed by man and depended on by him, include electricity and New York City blackout, Alaska pipeline and its breakdown, oil wells and North Sea and Saudi Arabia fires. Disruption, brought by dependency on technology, during New York City blackout, and that brought by Ind. Revolution of 19th century noted. Thoughts with regard to social upheaval of Ind. Revolution by Karl Marx, Herbert Spencer and Max Weber cited.
