(Studio) Report on further battles in confrontation between Egypt and Libya along Mediterranean coast. Arab League attempts mediation efforts, but there seems no lessening of tensions.

(Cairo, Egypt) PLO (Palestine Liberation Organization) leader yasir Arafat has taken central role in mediations, as 1 of few still friendly with both President Anwar Sadat of Egypt and Libya President Muammar Kadhafi. Report on recent confrontations. Kadhafi has used oil money to buy arms from USSR . Sadat is faced with possibility that war with Libya more likely than war with Israel; his bargaining position in talks with Israel thus weakened.
