(Studio) Mark Rudd surrenders in NYC.
REPORTER: Walter Cronkite

(NYC) Demonstrations and protests of 1968, 1969 recalled. Film of protest at Columbia Univ. in April, 1968 shown. At time Rudd was Students for a Democratic Society official; said protesters were against racism and Vietnam war. [In April 1968, RUDD - advocates nonviolence.] October 1969 Chicago "Days of Rage" film shown. More violence noted. Rudd and the Weathermen staged violent street demonstrations. Rudd chgs. outlined. Rudd released without bail. Arguments noted. Rudd due to surrender in Chicago tomorrow.
