(DC) Extent of flu outbreak noted on maps. [Center for Disease Control Dr. Robert CRAVEN - classes outbreak as epidemic in certain sections.] A-Texas and A-Victoria viruses blamed for outbreak. Russian flu, virus H-1 N-1, reported [CDC (Centers for Disease Control) Dr. Walter DOWDLE - expects some of this virus to surface.] Flu in 1940's and 1950's recalled as similar to Russian flu. Absence of vaccine for this flu cited.
