REPORTER: Harry Reasoner

(Columbus, Ohio) Columbus, Ohio, gave Nixon a majority almost same as he received from country as a whole. Since then Vietnam war had ended, Watergate has become familiar word, and battle has arisen between White House and Congress [Thad VON JASINSKI - feels Nixon shrewd politician.] Von Jasinski family voted for McGovern; distrust Nixon. [Steve VON JASINSKI says Nixon should have spoken out on Watergate earlier.] [Ward cmteman. Roosevelt CARTER - says feels Nixon has read mood of country well in cutting back such programs as administered by OEO.] [Dr. Lawrence GILL - praises Nixon for ending Vietnam war and getting POW's home. Critical of administration for continued bombing in Cambodia.] [Steelworker Bill ANDERSON - says voted for Nixon but doesn't like Nixon's dictatorial ways.] Nixon on whole doesn't seem well loved, but is respected for his political acumen.
