(Middlebury, Connecticut) Report on sleigh riding in snow in New England. Carroll Matthews cited as example of those few people left who have sleighs in which to ride; is noted most of these are in Massachusetts and Connecticut. [MATTHEWS - talks about sleigh riding and handling sleigh.] Reporter quotes from song, "Dashing Through the Snow." [sic] Matthews' horse, named Broadwall Daphne, and sleigh, an 1890 Acorn cutter, described. Matthews' sleighing is done in Middlebury, Connecticut. Sleighing in Hampton, Massachusetts, also noted, and Matthews' receipt of ribbon at gathering mentioned. His daughter Sally is with him. Currier and Ives mentioned.
