(Los Angeles, California) Conditions due to rainstorms in Arizona and California described. Situations in Los Angeles, Malibu and Hollywood noted; damage to famous Hollywood sign mentioned. Also reported is damage to house under construction in Ogden, UT, when Forest Service personnel fired howitzer at snowbank to control avalanche and hit house instead.
