(Studio) Controversy surrounding Senator Dennis DeConcini's amendment to Canal treaty outlined; opposition to reservation by Panama and efforts by White House to reach compromise with Senator noted. Scheduled meeting between DeConcini and President Carter, which becomes meeting of DeConcini with State Department representatives, reported.
