(Kolwezi, Zaire) Impt. of mining complex to economy and thus to government of Zaire and to copper industry in outside world examined. Concerns about ability of complex to be fully operational outlined. Decisions of most fors. in area to leave, as well as belief of those that stayed that Katangan rebels will return and Zairian army can't protect them, noted.
