USSR leader Leonid Brezhnev's response to recent United States statements reported.

Callaghan's cautionary remarks about West involvement in Africa, in response to Soviet moves there, and possible danger to Strategic Arms Limitation Talks (SALT) reported [CALLAGHAN - says some Americans seem to be discovering Africa for 1st time.
