(NYC) [Jack BENDER - says his heart pain is difficult to describe.] Lennox Hill Hospital physicians' exploration of Bender's heart for obstructions or blockages detailed, include possibility of open heart surgery. Bender's evaluation of new approach to heart repair noted. Description of this approach, clearing blockage without surgical procedure, given. [Cardiologist, Dr. Simon STERTZER - gives further details of procedure.] Films shown. Difference in cost of new procedure and coronary bypass operation cited. [STERTZER - states advantages of procedure.] Possible use of procedure for other illness caused by hardening of the arteries noted.
