(NYC) Incr. bank profits examined; figs. for Citicorp, Mfrs. Hanover, Security Pacific National Bank listed on screen. Bank profits juxtaposed against increase interest rates examined. [Citicorp spokesperson Leif OLSEN - comments.] Loan procedures and bank's profiting from them outlined. [NYC Consumer Affairs spokesperson Bruce RATNER - says banks and big business aren't suffering, just consumers.] Govt. policy said cutting into amount of money banks have to lend; implications considered.
