(Studio) PLO (Palestine Liberation Organization) reported giving up efforts to mediate end to continued seizure and holding of American hostages at embassy in Tehran; President Carter's ban on Iranian oil purchases quoted. Iran said announcing oil embargo against US shortly thereafter.

Carter said beginning deportation proceedings against Iranians illegally in US; other actions under consideration reported include food embargo, freezing of Iranian assets in United States and organization of international oil boycott against Iran
