(Studio) Supreme Court ruling with regard to unconstitutionality of police auto registration and driver license spot checks reported.
REPORTER: Walter Cronkite
(DC) Random police checking of driver licenses and car registrations said ruled unconstitutional; Court ruling detailed. Justice Byron White quoted with regard to citizen rights to privacy extending into auto. Delaware law said catalyst to decision. Indiscriminate stopping of vehicles for checks versus roadblocks wherein all cars would be stopped said possible future issue.
