(Studio) President Carter said to have seen gasoline shortage, while visiting West Coast.

(Los Angeles, California) Carter reported to have spent night with a Mexican-American family. Carter's call to Energy Secretary James Schlesinger in Washington, DC to ask what could be done to alleviate gas shortage in California noted. President said to have met with political leaders to undercut any Jerry Brown-for-President movement [CARTER - addresses Mexican-American rally, spking. with regard to treatment of illegal aliens.] Governor Jerry Brown said also there for festival. Arrest of 2 by Secret Service agents cited. Carter's visiting John Wayne in hospital mentioned. [CARTER - speaks about Wayne.]
