(Studio) Supreme Court rules no state help for parochial schools.

(DC) Court turns down 2 plans to help parents sending children to parochial schools. New York plan to give tax credit to parents and Pennsylvania plan to give direct cash reimbursement to parents. [Philadelphia, PAD Archbishop John Cardinal KROL - says money to go to parents, not school. Parochial schools don't accept money from outside sources.] Parochial schools in fin. crisis. Justice Lewis Powell says if ruling passed to allow parental aide, net effect to be advancing religious institution This violates 1st Amendment.
